Threave Castle is situated on an island in the River Dee, just outside of Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway. Built in the 1370s by Archibald the Grim, it was a stronghold of the “Black Douglases”, Earls of Douglas and Lords of Galloway, until their fall in 1455. This image was taken just prior to sunrise in Spring.
This image is perfect on aluminium and is available to view as such in my gallery at 49 Drumlanrig Street, Thornhill.
