Starting at the North East end of Ullswater we will stop first at the iconic Boathouse before moving on to Aira Force. This is a great place to practice long exposures, and as well as the falls itself, it provides some lovely locations in and around the woods to practice our composition. After this, we will take the shortish (30 mins) drive to Keswick where we will go to Brandlehow wood. After a break for food, we will move over to the other side of Derwent Water and photograph the various islands before making our way to Ashness Bridge – another great chance to work on long exposures. Keeping our fingers crossed for a sunset, we can either make our way to Ashness Jetty or Castlerigg Stone. The workshop will last from dawn til dusk (and maybe a bit longer depending on weather conditions)

Pick up from the Dumfries area can be arranged at no additional cost. For those not wanting a lift, we will meet somewhere in Penrith and all go in my car (a modern Vauxhall Insignia Estate so there is plenty of leg room and room in the boot for equipment)

Equipment needed will include, camera, tripod and suitable lens. Additional items such as camera manual, filters and waterproof camera cover are recommended.

No refunds can be offered but alternative dates will be made available if you are unable to attend. Please wear suitable clothing and shoes as there is likely to be snow, mud and rain (possibly all at once!)
